Martin J. Geller

Founder and Chairman

Martin Geller is the Founder and Chairman of Geller & Company, a firm that provides business owners, general partners, non-profits, and other institutions with strategic business, operational and financial advisory services. Geller & Company helps clients decide on their goals and objectives and ensure they are successfully implemented.

Since Geller & Company’s founding in 1984, Martin has led its team to serve a wide range of distinguished clients with a comprehensive suite of business and financial services, including strategic and operational CFO consulting, financial reporting and accounting, tax advisory, fund administration, information technology, and integrated investment management.

As an entrepreneur, Martin and his leadership team have built and monetized a range of businesses. Most recently, in January 2025, Martin led the sale of Geller’s multi-family office and investment management services, representing $10B in assets, to Corient Private Wealth, a subsidiary of CI Financial with over $180B in assets under management. In addition to leading Geller & Company, Martin serves as Vice Chair of Corient and Chair of its Family Office Services business.

Martin served as the initial CFO of Bloomberg L.P. since its founding in 1981 through 2020. He also served on the Management Committee and the Executive Committee of Bloomberg L.P. for many of those years. He was also on the Board of Bloomberg L.P. and an Advisor to the Bloomberg L.P. Audit Risk and Compliance Committee for over 20 years through 2023. In 2021, Geller sold its corporate CFO and tax services division to Bloomberg L.P. Martin continues to serve as a Senior Advisor to Michael Bloomberg, and he and Geller continue to service Bloomberg L.P. well as function as CFO for The Bloomberg Family Foundation, Willett Advisors and other institutions in Michael’s life.

Previously, Geller divested interests in its leading fund administration business that served some of America’s largest banks and financial institutions, and had in excess of $25B under management, to a partnership between Carlyle and SS&C. In 2011, a large segment of Geller’s Emerging Business Group was sold to one of its largest clients, Moelis & Company. Geller also launched and sold several state and local tax advisory businesses to three separate accounting firms between 2009 and 2011. 

Martin holds a majority stake in Julien’s Auctions, one of the world’s leading music, entertainment and Hollywood auction houses, where he is also Chairman and Geller & Company serves as CFO. Martin is a partner of the Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment company whose assets include the Washington Commanders, Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Devils, Crystal Palace, Joe Gibbs Racing and Prudential Center. 

As part of his extensive work related to Israel and Jewish affairs, Martin founded and led the AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) Geller Student Government Association Presidents Program and the Israel on Campus Coalition Geller International Fellowship. Both programs were created to empower student leaders to engage in informed advocacy, foster cross-cultural understanding and strengthen the relationship between the United States and Israel.  

Martin also serves on a number of non-profit boards and advisory boards including: the American Israel Education Foundation, the Birthright Israel Foundation, the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund, the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music, the Earl Monroe New Renaissance Basketball High School, the Northeast Regional Council of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the Northeast Regional Council for the National Parks Conservation Association, and the Northeast Regional Leadership Cabinet of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. Martin is a member of the Americas Foundation of the Serpentine Galleries and a former member of the advisory board of the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City from 2003-2013.

Martin and his wife, Lauren, reside in New York City and have five children and two grandchildren.
